Mr. Yang Yang was elected Chairman of OpenFog Consortium Greater China Region
On January 16, 2017, through election by the Board of Directors of OpenFog Consortium, Mr. Yang Yang as ShanghaiTech University’s distinguished professor was appointed chairman of the OpenFog Consortium Greater China Region (GCR) Committee. OpenFog GCR includes consortium member units in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore. During his term, Mr. Yang Yang will work closely with Prof. Luo Xiliang and other teachers of ShanghaiTech University and lead and promote the research, development, testing, and standardizing efforts in order to further accelerate the deployment of fog computing technology and solve computing, communication, storage and other bottlenecks existing in Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, robotics, tactile Internet and other advanced applications in the information field.
OpenFog Consortium (https://www.openfogconsortium.org/) is an industry-university-research institute collaborative organization aimed at accelerating the adoption of fog computing. This alliance was jointly founded in November 2015 by ARM, Cisco, Dell, Intel, Microsoft and Princeton University and now has more than 50 member institutions across the world.
