Dr. Yang Yang Attended “Young High-Tech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talents Talking about Future Development” as Outstanding Youth Representative on Invitation
On May 4, 2016, Dr. Yang Yang, research fellow of www.9778.com-威尼斯9778官方网站, Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of Key Lab of Wireless Sensor Network and Communication, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited as an outstanding young person to attend the theme activity entitled as “Young High-Tech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talents Talking about Future Development” jointly organized by Science and Technology Talents Center and people.com.cn. During the activity, Dr. Yang Yang shared his reflections on innovation, entrepreneurship and self-struggle and conducted on-site interaction with student representatives. This activity was attended by the following people on invitation: 5 representatives of young high-tech innovative and entrepreneurial talents including Chen Wei, post-80s professor, doctoral advisor and deputy dean of Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University; Dr. Yang Yang, research fellow of www.9778.com-威尼斯9778官方网站, Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of Key Lab of Wireless Sensor Network and Communication, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Dr. Yin Zhangqi, assistant research fellow of Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences, Tsinghua University; Tian Geng, founder, CEO and chief scientist of Geneis (Beijing) Co., Ltd.; Li Yin, founder and CEO of QC Maker Education; and two student representatives, namely Wei Yubao from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Deng Zhiying from China Youth University of Political Sciences. This activity was chaired by Tian Xiaobing, deputy head of Investigation and Publicity Department of Science and Technology Talents Center, and Hao Qiang, deputy director of Science and Technology Talents Center acted as commenting expert and made a summary speech for this event. In the presentation session, with patriotic enthusiasm, Dr. Yang Yang expressed his thoughts on philosophy of life clearly and vividly by using such metaphors as tree-and-sun, tree-and-soil and tree-and-forest relationships, which was well received by net friends. In Yang Yang’s opinion, the choice of scientific and technological talents towards innovation and entrepreneurship in the future ultimately depends on their individual dream. Young talents should make them better and stronger and contribute to national development to finally realize the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation. Dr. Yang Yang’s speech voiced the aspirations of the young people. At the interactive Q&A session, the two student representatives posed the most representative of collected questions to guest speakers. Students were curious about what breakthroughs would be made in future development of artificial intelligence and consulted the three young experts in information industry by asking the following question: does AlphaGo defeating human beings signal the first year of artificial intelligence? Several guests participated in the discussion on this issue. In addition, student representatives also asked such questions as choice of life on innovation and entrepreneurship, policy guidance on talent flow, and production-teaching-research integration of new technologies. In the end, Hao Qiang, deputy director of Science and Technology Talents Center pointed out that the five development ideas of innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared development mentioned in the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” raised new requirements and new tasks for us young innovative and entrepreneurial talents. The tasks are arduous and the time is pressing. We should further study the gist of President Xi Jinping’s series of speeches, align our thought and action with the requirements of CPC Central Committee and make new contributions for our glorious cause and for realization of the Chinese dream and fulfillment of all tasks and targets of building China into a well-off society.
